Hi I am new to this forum
I ran asus overclock tool and got 4.5 ghz on my new i5 6600k without increasing the voltage
Is this good?

my pc:

i5 6600k
gtx 960 (i upgrade this next month)
16 gb ram ddr4
noctua u12s
asus z170-a
be quiet! silent base 600

By running the tool it has automatically raged the volts really high.

So sadly, no its not good, its not good at all.

i got the voltage down to 1.250 now and ive used prime 95 for 30 minutes
should i do it for longer?

The most recommended test for CPU's is AIDA64, Make sure everything CPU related is checked and let it run for an hour.

From everything I've read, Prime95 isn't good to use with 22nm CPU's or smaller.

There was an interesting indepth post on xtremesystems a while ago about Prime95 not being a good choice for stress tests and those guys do some crazy LN2 runs so it's worth checking out, I'll see if I can find the thread.
