I am looking at picking up another video card for folding. Is the EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti - 448 Cores (Fermi) Classified Ultra 1280MB a good buy? I can pick up the card brand new for $250.

Thanks

It's a good folder. How much more expensive is it than a normal 560Ti? How much less than a 570?

I think stevehat1 has 1 or more folding. Someone around here does anyway.

A standard 1 GB GTX 560TI is about $25 cheaper@ $225 and the GTX 570's are running about $300 for a 1GB card. So this falls right in between the two.

For $25 I'd probably go with the 448. If you can justify the extra $50 for the 570 do that, but that's a stretch IMO.

I agree, I have an off topic question for you if you dont mind. I would like to use this card for folding in my main rig, currently I have an R6950 in there. Can I run both video cards in the system, the GTX for dedicated folding and the AMD card for everything else? My wife loves to play Sims 3 for hours on end and I would not get much folding done while she is gaming if I only had the 560TI.

In windows 7 that should work. In the past I have always had trouble having ATI drivers installed along side another graphics cards, but take that with a pinch of salt as the last ATI card I bought was an AGP X800 XT.

People have got Radeon cards working along side nvidia cards for physx (using some sort of tweak/hack) so I see no reson why what you want to do should be out of the question.
