Is the Asus Geforce 550Ti any good?

I was looking at the 550Ti for £95 but I was wondering if there was anything better for around the same price.

Minimum i'd go with is a 560Ti or a 6950 to be honest, anything below that will struggle, if you want to play on max settings that is.

A better choice for a similar amount of money would be a 6850. But like SieB said you would be better off spending a little more now and getting at least a 560ti or 6950 card.

OP's profile says he's using a 19" monitor so likely gaming at 1440 x 900, a GTX 550Ti will defiantly max out games like BF3 and Crysis 2. personal experience seen it being played on a standard GTX 550 with a 19" monitor

i have a 560ti factory overclocked and i run BF3 very smoothly on very high! so i would suggest one of those . Maybe even one of the 560ti 448 cores that have just come out. You do not need a 2gb card like an earlier poster said

Watch the prices, they will fall soon as Nvidia fills the 600 series line up.

they already have the high end covered with the 680 and are rebadging 510 ,520, 410,420, as lower end 600 cards.

when they make a 670 or 660, you should be able to get a great deal on a 560Ti.

Or AMD might drop their prices first to compete, so just watch the prices while you save up the extra.
