Is safe to play with 80C?

Its ok? Or try to RMA it?

Please fast reply. Today i must decide. To keep card or change it. Then next wait two days to get next WF 770. But first i am asking you forum:)

if the fan speed is on auto you should set a manual fan speeds to go up higher than normal. Also what the room temperature like?

Okay the fan profile is probably not done correctly, not your fault it just happens sometime. Imo it should be at 60% when it goes over 65c.

I don't know how to do fan profiling for Nvidia (if it is even a thing) but I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction ^_^.

80c is the temp limit set by default, the card overclocks itself till it hits that temp limit. if you want a cooler card, just change the temp limit.

I've never had to touch the fan profiling for my 280x (mmm 58c max ) but I've done it with my old XFX 7870 more than enough times. Its amazing how much better the cooling is.

By the way, how do you get those temperatures? Is it gaming normally or is it when you run a benchmark test?

I thought 80C was to be expected air cooling the newer Nvidia cards to be honest. It won't be a problem for the card as they're designed to be able to handle it, so try turning the fan speed up and ensuring you have good airflow throughout your case.

What kind of airflow do you have to the card? as in what case and fan setup? changing my fans round dropped a few degrees off.

My GTX 480 has been at 90-94 degrees for what, 3 and half years now, still works awesomely, 8800 GTX longevity killer.
