Hi,

I have had the new maximus extreme for about a week moving from Abit In9 32Max Nvida chipset board. One thing i have noticed is a drop in transfer speed using sata and usb.

with my last board with the latest drivers I was hitting sata transfer speeds of 75-80MB/s and 70-75MB/s on average (non raid - IDE config) I even hit 120MB/s using esata (non raid) and on my USB i could hit burst speeds of up 45-55MB/s and average 35MB/s.

now with the maximus (set on IDE did not now about ACHI) i get max sata speed of 65MB/s

55MB/s average and USB I can't get more than 25MB/s

I have all the latest drivers in there intel drivers from below link and also the latest jmicron drivers. enable writie caching on the disks are enabled.

1) Is this normal or I'm i doing something wrong?

2) Is the sata driver controlled by intel chipset or jmicron?

3) Would I see a performance increase if i switch to ACHI mode?

Thanks
