Is My 3570k any good?

I wouldnt bother - if you have a chip that good - I wouldnt be going anywhere near limits of breaking it...

Hell - I'd even put it on ebay maybe with links to this thread and see what happens

really you think someone would pay more than off the self cost? for an 3570K Humm..... its a thought :D

I'm really going to have to jump in on this bandwagon and try a max OC as well now lol.

Edit:

Well 4.9 is the best I can do:

It's pretty stable there too - I even managed to run both a heat test and blend stress test in Aida64. Under heat stressing max core temp was 88C but only 82C under blend.
But when I went for x50 I could couldn't quite get it into windows long enough to validate. I was playing with PLL (up to 1.95) and vcore went all the way up to 1.52 but it just wasn't playing ball.

Damn the edit button disappearing.

I should also say that my BIOS vcore input was 1.435 to make it stable (1.408 under load). Perhaps more interestingly, I ran those tests with 2x8gb 1600 MHz RAM set at 1333 but I've just put in the other 2 sticks and set XMP to run them at 1600MHz and it's still stable. Kudos to the chipset - maxing out RAM has made no difference to me.

well i have just tried a 5.3 @ 1.52v run, it will boot said not stable enough to get the validation :(

Don't want to go past 1.52 may look in to PLL but that something i have not touched on this chip yet any advice?

You guys are talking about different settings I think.

Josh was talking about Internal PLL Overvoltage which you might need to enable but I was talking about CPU PLL voltage further down the page which AzR3ael seems to be looking at.

I set the CPU PLL voltage to 1.45 which you get to by pressing the minus key to actually go under the auto setting (which is around 1.8v). That was stable for me at 4.9GHz. The system agent (SA) I got down to 0.87v too. The combination dropped my temps by about 3C @ 4.9.

Gr8 info Master&Puppet, I plugged in a few Voltage tweaks and i have a 5.0Ghz Stable with acceptable temp for a complete run of ITB, Had to push a little more Vcore volts thought this to keep it stable for the ITB than my Validation run but still happy with it :)

5.0Ghz @ 1.364v
CPU PLL @1.600v

Made a a noticeable different s my temps :)
