Is it just me????.........

I work on an IT Helpdesk, and as with most IT Jobs, I do a lot of cutting and pasting using the good old Ctrl+C / V.... but, I noticed something this morning that made me sigh and think of those quality hours that I've put into FPS's in the past.

When reaching for my keyboard, I find myself constantly correcting my fingers, as they 'always' and so naturally fall to WASD, Crtl and the SPACE bar....

Made me giggle..... next time your at work if your in IT, or any sort of interaction with a keyboard, see just how easily your hand slips into that position without thinking, but as my title says.................'is it just me?'

:) :D :rollingla

(ps - I know some'uvya use the arrow keys like Kemp does, but you are all odd and probably brain damaged at birth....... :bootyshak ... only joking!)

Yep, my hands fall on the arrows and space when i sit at any keybpard.

And as for the brain damage :mad::mad:

I was a hardcore UT gamer so thats why i'm a cursor person. I bet u was a Quake guy?

I only used the cursors for one game back in the day... SubSpace, that was it :)

WASD r0x0rz j0r b0x0rz!

ha ha, sorry Jim, didn't mean to offend :o  hehe

Yeah, I was a quake guy, tbh I did try the cursor keys a few times, just my hands feel odd when I put them in that position, feels like the 'strong hand' from the guy in Scary Movie 2 :D

No doubt the wasd does have many more advantages than cursors, but i prefer to do the majority of movement with my right hand, which naturally sits on the right of my keyboard.

I wonder if using 8456 on numpad would give any extra advantages :-/

I do all my manouvering with my left hand but still prefer arrow keys.

Reason: you never hit the wrong button. When I try WASD I always hit the wrong button. There are certainly more options for mapping of CSS moves on WASD, but man do I get annoyed selecting the wrong keys and then I have to look to see where my fingers are

I never ge tlost, I guess I got so used to them. I started out on the cursor keys with Delta Force 2 but I moved onto WASD and its way better less stretching and reaching. Whenever I touch a keyboard my hands almost autmatically go there.

i use cursor, because i am so used to it from delta force and UT.

i find that using wasd and space to jump makes you stretch a bit far and is not comfortyable, and i always hit caps lock which sucks
