Is Fear 3 overheating GPU?

Hi all. Its very strange problem. On that game on maxed details while playing 3hours max temp is 70C. Is not too high for that game?

I am using GPU : Twin Frozr 680 with stock clocks and stock fan settings.


Maybe somebody can check temps in that game? Fear 3 is not looking the best visual and i have temps like in Crysis.

70°C is just fine.
you can't measure your GPU load by how good a game looks, it depends on the engine and what it uses. Fear 3 is most likely horribly optimized and for that reason it uses the GPU a lot.

I wouldn't worry about that temp at all. You could lower temps though by increasing the fan speed.

By the way . Somebody say that "70C is a bit on the high side for that GPU." So what you think guys?

It's not high. My 680 is anywhere from 75C to 80C while folding 24/7 for about a year now. If it bothers you that much, crank the fan speed up.

F3AR, whilst undoubtedly a completely crap and insanely difficult game is quite hard on a GPU because it uses DX11 for the lighting shadows and textures.

Thus like BF3 and other DX11 titles it makes your GPU work pretty hard. 70c is lame though tbh I would be more worried at 85+

Yes but in the long run modern solder (or more specifically the flux) can't.

As everyone has already said, 70c is completely fine and nothing to worry about, you can use MSI afterburner to measure gpu temp and usage whilst in game.
