So 3D would have been better then

Pretty much, but if you like being sprayed with water than the 4D experience is better

Could you imagine Jurassic Park in 4D? All I can imagine us when that acid-spitting dinosaur gets that guy in the face...

I think 3d is cool but is it really worth it and i find myself saying no it isnt darin you are the oldest of 7 children the glasses will get destroyed the screen will be covered in fingerprints and id rather get a bigger led than a smaller led3d tv for the money or buy a new onkyo av reciever for the pc xbox ps3 and tv to play with i dont think i will ever get a 3d display device of any kind its just a gimmick

Over the past few months i have been watching 3d films/TV i can say it has a long way to go. I have watched several films in 3D such as Thor, Captain america and Green Lantern. I have also watched the x games in 3D over virgin media on demand.

I don't think 3D at this time is any good. i normal find my self watching a 3D film with the 3D turned off. I just cant stand watching a film for 2 hours with some glasses on. The strain on my eyes is just annoying (and bad for them) I find that watching 3D at the cinemas is more to my liking. I don't no if its the bigger screen or if its that passive technology that cinemas use.

Any way at home I have been using a http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004TB4WSW with http://www.amazon.co...duct/B004QO1OUQ. The TV its self is amazing. I would say it is the best TV i have ever owned but the 3D is not that good.

It's a no for me until they get glasses-free 3D working properly. Mainly because wearing two pairs of glasses isn't comfortable at all.

That or Specsavers start doing prescription passive 3D glasses

Could get some as my second pair when they do the two-fer.

Also, I find 2D PS3 blu-ray playback to be a bit dodgy. Was trying to show mum a comparison between DVD and blu-ray, and the intro of The Day After Tomorrow was definately stuttering on the blu-ray.

I don't know what it's like in the rest of the world but we don't even have a lot of HD tv channels.

The 3D will only become worth it when there are actually any tv channels that record actual 3D footage, which will most probably take a while.

I have owned Nvidia 3D vision setup and yes, at the moment i would say to anyone that is on a budget that it is not worth it. I'm unsure about there latest solution (V2) but the setup I had was to fidgety to be recommendable. I do however believe that in time they will fix all its issues and then i will invest in another 3D setup...
I have never been as immersed in a game as i was in the 6-8 hour Metro 2033 campaign while using 3D. Its truly amazing when it works and complete pain in the arse when it doesn't.

3D is really cool depending on what you watch it with.

My 47 inch 3D TV I picked up for 800$ a month back.

It works great with things that are meant for 3D. (3D blu-rays, 3D Tv shows) I especially enjoyed watching a program about the deep sea in 3D. It was so good that I could literally reach out and put my finger in a fishs mouth.

However, the screens edges get a little bit iffy. The 3D will get a little bit fuzzy around the edges of the screen, and wont work great.

My TV also has 2D - 3D conversion settings, and they work , but barely at all. I can play my Xbox 360 games, and then click the 2D-3D conversion button, and the only thing that looks 3D is text that appears on the bottom of the screen, and sometimes my cursor for my weapon. Perhaps its just my eyes being hopeful though...

Anyway, for an 800$ 47 inch 3D smart TV, I think its pretty good. However it isn't wonderful.

This is why I am voting for "Yes I own a 3d TV and they're good"

I've seen 3D in the cinema, i find it fine.Only issue i have is some glasses can be uncomfortable. I'm going to pick up my 3D tv today, i tried the glasses in store and there are the most comfortable ones i have worn yet so will be interesting to try gaming and movies in 3D over the holidays.

Just a gimmick but can be a bit of fun from time to time I say. Wait till fempto cameras and its sourrounding technology develops, would be awesome to own 4D displays and best of all no glasses would be needed.
