Wow Clunk thats some bum luck

I've had to RMA a couple of monitors and that Asus went funny (was a test board anyway) and a set of Zalman headphones but nothing like that list :(

Yep, its certainly one way to make yourself feel like an incompetent buffoon, be an early adopter of new tech. You would think I had learnt my lesson by now.

I think a lot of those items were connected, for example, I have a feeling that the P5Wdh killed the OCZ plats and the X1900XT, and the duff PSUs havent helped either

XMS I saw your P5B stopped posting, no beeps, no sign of life. I've had this happen to me before.

What you do is shut off the PSU, and clear the CMOS. Then proceed to remove the video card, sound card, and memory. Once you have those things removed, fire up the rig. It should beep a few times. Hold the power button to shut it down, and turn off the PSU. Re-install the video card and ram. Tada, life :)

Tried that and every other method suggested by everyone on this forum and others. And then made up my own, even did the hard reset that Jim told me about that ASUS themselves told him, no luck.

needless to say, i am now posting off a Commando :p

props to Ayd at ST for sorting it out so quickly, once again, i owe you big time

And Clunk..... do you live next to a power plant or something? that is some seriously bad luck. Have you checked your mains with a multimeter ?

No mate, not near any power plant, I think just horrendous luck. Other electrical gear, such as HiFi, TV etc has all survived (I really shouldnt have said that). :)

Better add my Western Digital RAID 0 array to the list too. 2nd drive in the array is kaput! Replaced with two nice new Seagate 250Gb 16mb cache 7200.10's...love it! :yumyum:

Ouch, sounds like all the data was ok which is what counts, eh.
