iPhone...why oh why o why...

..did I decide to buy one on Saturday.

I was lured in by its sexy looks and awesome interface...but damn is it missing some features.

Sure I already knew about the lack of 3G, GPRS, decent camera and the inability to send MMS messages.

But bloody hell, when I learned that you couldn't even set an MP3 as a ringtone without paying for it, you cant install any apps without hacking it and you cant even access the web using traditional GSM when there's no wifi, it went straight back in the box!

I heard these things a while back, but I`m not 100% sure - but I think things are being patched as they go along.

Yeah I'm already on the latest official firmware It's just missing soo much stuff it makes me want to cry

you mean like the only things people use phones for other than ringing?

Seems to me like theyve been deliberately lazy, knowing their main fanbase A. probably wont know what 3G even is and B. put looks before anything else.

Totally agreed. I can't believe that it doesn't even have a full implementation of Bluetooth, so I couldn't even BT all my contacts over to the Iphone from my Sony. Total bolacks!

Exactly. Its pretty much a flashy ipod with a half-arsed phone bolted on to it.

That`s well weird. How do the bt headsets work ? U can`t dismiss bt headsets and hands free gear. O hang on - I think the headsets plug something in b4 hand perhaps. Like they come with a dongle.

I know the touch does wifi with extreme eaze.

Ye the BT on the iphone only supports headsets, no other kind of data exchange like connecting to other phones etc. Very crappy

I'm surprised you decided to get one though mate as I hear on the grapevine that Apple are soon to release a 16gb version with 3G capabilities....

Tbh I think some of the LG and samsung phones are better looking than the iPhone

Yeah agreed. For ages I've been pointing people in the direction of Sony and Creative when they go on about how great their ipod is. The only things that sold the iphone to me was the excellent web browser and o2's unlimited data packages. I haven't found any phone that comes close to the browser capabilities of the ipod yet, and if I do, I'll be all over it like a rash.
