If you live in a cave and are never near electricity, If you are only used to basic phones and think you can compare Apples and Oranges. If you think a powerhouse should be able to run on a tiny battery for weeks via magic. If you get lost just walking out of your front door
Then Don't get an N95 - You will never understand it.
tbh i wouldnt get either i prefer windows based phones when it comes to all out toys, i sold loads of nokias and there are so many faulty ones only ones that seam to be any good are the new e series as they havent to much in them i think the iphone could be simular in the respect it has alot of new technology in it.
I was going to buy an N95 but got put off by how flimsy it felt. Then I did a bit of reading and noticed loads of people complaining about the slider breaking and software issues.
In the end I went for a Sony P990i. It may be older and probably slightly bigger, but it does everything the N95 can and with the most recent 2007 firmware is pretty rock solid

well I am one of the lucky few that has an N95 and its working perfectly!!! I would be very interested to try the iPhone!!! Apple know the game when It comes to good looks! I would normally accept hateful comments towards APPLE but recently APPLE have taken that final step... and as much as everyone hates to admit! they havent just got looks anymore!!! theres a BITE that COMES with that BARK!

and apple are coming from the computer world where they dominated on the pictures, music, videos, camera and good looks market but they havent really gone into mobile technology before so as Nokia there are some lessons to be learned...
i would say guys this one is a contender!!! It really IS... the best thing to do is keep zipped --- try this baby out, then talk! which is what most of you should do with MAC... i was a total PC guy but man I am all for and behind the new iMAC with core 2 processors!!! so now... im a PC and a MAC GUY!!! CANT GO WRONG

So this release date, isn't that a US release date only?
Do we know when it's due in the UK?
I'm holding off renewing my current phone as I want the iphone and don't want to get locked into a contract elsewhere.
