Alright, pc's been fine since i got it. spec in sig...

now today i come home after it having been switched off all day..

and it won't post

keeps hanging on C1

googled and turned up numerous threads regarding the ram voltage, (which i already setup)

i've tried everything i can think of regarding the ram

i've even tried booting with no sticks of ram and it STILL throws the C1 error

it'l boot with 1

it'l boot with 2

but won't boot with 3 or 4?!

it was eprfectly fine thismorning!??!

anyone else had this problem? the ram is fine, its been scanned before and no errors came up, after being off all day for a change it now just will not post, past C1 error..

i've come to the conclusion that turned things off.. is bad. screw the environment, screw the leccy bill.. 24/7 powerups ftw!

seriously i'm furious i'm going to break it i swear to god

been 100% fine until now :( I HATE HARDWARE!!!

[/rant] [calm] help? [/calm]

C1 is memory m8.

Same on the p35 as the x38.

Some bioses I get it and like clockwork I can fix it.

Boot with 1 stick installed usually allows u to boot, then u can set the bios to ur memory settings, and stick in the other strip(s).

Sorry, I meant to say, what are your memory settings on the sticks and what are u setting in the bios ?

tried that tried it all, after like an hour of testing every single strip of ram in every single slot

i've got one that the system just won't boot when its in so i'm looking at an rma now

3gb just isn't.... 4 lol

ah well.. on to crucial,

and i'd done the single stick boot thing and tried setting the settings but it wouldn't get past the c1 with this stick in :( odd that turning the thing off suddenly somehow breaks it?

god damnit

Cheers rast reps for the help mate :) much appreciated.. silly crucial

edit: rma submitted to crucial.. now i wait

The likes of the Corsair techs on their forum suggest raising MCH volts `n` stuff if using 4 sticks.

There`s also causes for being sure u`r on 2T timings if ur going over like 400mhz.

Some sticks want 2.25/2.3 volts when 4 sticks are used.

However, Corsair also say, using 4 sticks, that aren`t sold as a QUAD unit, won`t work. Or atleast if u get it working - well done. 2 x DUALs aren`t "supported" - but they can work with massaging.

really?

wow.. ok.. i'll try and look into it i'll give 2.25v a try then perhaps

i wasn't aware of a quad kit for them i guess i'll have to have a look around, i won't be buying anything till i get 8GB next anyway tbh, it just kinda feels bad being back on the none 4gb section of the roster lol.

its wierd how its worked flawlessly up until now, then all of a sudden 1 stick fails :( even on its own, in any other configuration it just won't post past the C1 error :(

awesome help though rast, seriously man i was getting sore fingers from inserting and taking out the ram with the clips :(

thanks for the help mate

edit: when you say corsair? did they test crucial's ram?

yup 1 stick fails to post, cant get past the c1 post bit so cant memtest at all

i've got an RMA number i just need to pick another stick to send off with it to get a replacement

eeny meeny miney mo...

really.. bah thats no good :(

o-well can't do much about it now. i might try the extra .05 volts to see if it makes it work if not i'll just send it with another stick off and get some replacements and prey, it works

would you believe it, it works with 2.3 v to the ram!

i'm still sending 2 sticks out for replacement theres no real reason for it to have stopped working at stock volts in the first place :(

*sigh*

well if it decides to still not work when i get it back i'll just 2.3v it

that exta .5v won't fry the ram if i left it like that would it?
