DOH! I don't get this whole dual CPU support thing either. Unless Intel is taking a tip from AMD and trying to build a platform that will last 4 years. Too little too late if you ask me. I'll be happy with Ryzen once they work the kinks out. This X299 isn't tempting me one little bit.

I think Ryzen 2 will be a bigger kick in the nuts to Intel if they screw X299 up. Which seems they are to me from what I can see

Ryzen memory is fine now. The issue is just clocking above 3200mhz along with quad channel speeds being pretty low. But for most people it is fine. It'll be kinked out long before Ryzen 2. They probably have 18months before Ryzen 2 comes around.
Intel paying a premium for a 4 core on the "X" platform sounds like a screw up to me. Unless it clocks to 6ghz there isn't a reason for it.

No, it's not fine now by any stretch. My memory runs at 2933 tops, and even that won't start on cold boots and defaults to 2133. Asus is furiously working on it, but it's far from fine. That is one ANNOYING bug, let me tell ya. But I trust Asus will fix it sooner than later, along with 3200+ memory support, but a lot of that comes from AMD's AEGSA updates too. Since memory speed directly affects the CPUs performance, it's still bugged as far as I'm concerned, which is why Ryzen won't replace my main Intel rig for a while, and is relegated to test bench duty.

Many others including a review site(GN) all report Asus as being the best right now and is working fine.. They even clocked to 3400 with a CH6.
I trust what I see with my own 2 eyes. Could be my RAM too, since I did buy some really nutty high end stuff (G.Skill TridentZ 3600 @ CL15). I'm not done experimenting with beta BIOSes yet either. There's a very polluted 1200 page thread on OCN about the Crosshair 6 X370, and Asus guys in there have provided lots of good info. But it's still an immature platform for sure.

I am not saying it's not immature, but it certainly is solid for the people who have the limited memory that is supported. That will come with time.

200/300 series should be 2-8 cores, at least, and the x series 10+ cores, imo... No room for a 4 core on the latter, move on.

People are having issues across the board still (pun intended). There is a thread for the MSI X370 Carbon Pro on OCN and it's full of people who can't get their system to work properly. I'm seeing reviewers get 3200Mhz CL14 memory working, but not a lot of the general public.
