Intel's i7 8700K is out of stock across the UK

It was never in stock in the first place here in Norway :(

This. With no eta even. 2017 they say, great. I don't do pre-orders, period. 1 Nov scares me to death, that's too long a wait. Intel should have waited and created inventory first.

Er...what?

South Park.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartmanland

. Business experts mistake Cartman's "you can't come" technique as a successful marketing ploy that helped to turn around the once struggling park.

OK. Cartman gets left a million dollars when his grandmother dies. He buys a theme park that is about to go out of business because no one is visiting. Cartman does not buy the park as a business, he buys it so that he doesn't have to wait in line. Thus he does not let any one in, but advertises his park any way with the slogan "So much fun at Cartmanland, but you can't come !".

But this makes every one want to go even more.

Kinda like the 8700k. Intel didn't actually have any for sale (OCUK had none as well as reports of two other major vendors having absolutely none) but they are waving it in your face etc.

So it's Cartmanland. Just like the Vega GPUs.
