Is the i5-9600K much faster than the i5-8600K?

8600k @4.3Ghz = single thread score of 5741.

9600k @4.6Ghz = single thread score of 6027.

I'm not impressed yet.

Kind of what we expected really, no massive changes to the hardware just a slight boost in clock speeds. Might be a good time to pick up an 8600.....
