Intel's 3D Xpoint SSDs have been spotted at validation bodies, meaning that production models of these new ultra-fast SSDs are already in the wild.

If it's speeds 5.5 times faster than their current NVME drives then that's 11,825MB/s and write speeds of 8,525MB/s :eek:
 
True, wouldn't be fast enough to transfer my entire library of "midgets and goats in thongs" volumes 1-20.

But on a serious note, I don't think it'll be much faster in real usage. Where you'll see benefits is in latency. Just feel more responsive but overall speed probably not unless you are transferring many files, but even then if it's to something like Sata 3 or PCI it'll just be capped at that drives speed.
