Intel X79 Mobo & Self Contained WC Kit Pictured!

It's great the socket is massive, combined with awesome mobo, big + for intel. The boards are packed with components, the mem on either side makes the layout better and influences heatsink designers to properly consider space for tall RAM, though as the tech gets better RAM might not need be so tall.

It's clear they're evolving the computer extremely well

Gay because i figured they wouldn't make more G1 Killer boards so i snapped up my X58 Assassin rig because of that thinking.

It is still a killer rig but i was originally thinking of holding off until these new boards.

Probably not until Oct. That kinda sucks. None of these boards will actually even come close to fitting in my *tiny* HAF 922.

Gigabyte boards are looking awesome, just wondering hy the UD7/OC and the Assasin (which I'm sure is actually a Sniper as there's only 3 pci 3.0 lanes and not 4) only have 4 ram clots instead of 8 though?

from a rig builders point of view... yes its nice looking but does it let the heat go as fast , as to me it looks like it will run hot

The magazine on the Sniper and Assassin was bad but this just ruins a really good looking board.

And a UD3 board we've not seen before.

Biggest changes seem to be the SATA ports, and a few additions here and there (extra SATA power on the UD7/OC, Assassin 2 SB Heatsink etc.)

It's what puts me off the Assassin boards, they make a really good looking board and then they spoil it with a magazine northbridge heatsink on the X58 and Z68 ones and now this stupid pistol northbridge heatsink on the 2011 one. It looks a bit childish in my opinion, it's something I would have liked when I was 13 but not now
