Intel X38 and SLI...the real story

My experience of hacked SLi drivers was on the p5b-d with 7900gt's.

3dmark score rose by 4000 points but I never got a game to work with SLi in the short time I tired it.

As stated in the article, no one has hacked drivers for 8800's - even if they do soon the 9800's are encroaching so... What would be the point?

The mobo will be good at what it does, if you want SLi get an nvidia mobo.

I really want SLi/CF at the moment. I don't know why. My big screen needs it lol.

i dont find SLI, or crossfire, worth it. I only play at 1280x1024, and most games run fine at high settings on my x1900xt. Which I will be upgrading soon to a HD2900xt.

I have an 8800GTS and I figure by the time it starts to have trouble with games at my native res 1280x1024 I will have 2 choices:

1. Get another 8800GTS

2. Get a new card

Option #1 is obviously going to be cheaper but I suspect option #2 will actually provide more of a performance boost as each new generation of cards seems to kick more and more butt, and there is the DX support to consider.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it pans out.

Dude even i play everything at 1400x900 so you should have no problems for a while. And yes i play everything maxed with AA.
