Intel Skylake CPUs may be in short supply at launch

Hmm I've read this over at kitiguru and all we've really learned is that this specific retailer did not get much. I think saying that there might not be (or there might be) enough at launch is jumping to conclusions :)

Ive heard limited units from everyone Ive spoken to

If you have a shortage you create a greater demand.
Kind of strange really, but people who may not have wanted one straight away will now probably try to buy 1 straight away in fear of not getting one.

i would be pretty surprised if there was any other reason behind there being a shortage other than to boost demand, with how things have been going in the cpu world the past few years there really is not that much incentive for people to buy the newest cpu on release.
but if you were considering it and then you hear they will be in short supply it may just be enough to tip you over the edge and buy one asap.

It would make me just lean back and do something else ha ha! Buying anything upon release is a no go for me anyways with the price premium and all. The Swedish bloke also said the same for some of the 'most interesting' motherboards, would it really go that far that they're doing the same?

Yay, I haven't enough money to buy at launch!

...

I'd have enough, just think it's not worth paying the extra basically for air IMHO, just so I could say I've got it first :) I'd think with my wallet :)

Also it'd allow me to see if anything is wrong with the current models (like the B3 stepping for my board back in the day, where it replaced some faulty things on the first stepping).
