How is it not safe to run a cpu with a stock voltage of 1.250v at 1.4375v @ 4.0ghz 24/7? Thats not much of a voltage increase for awesome performance...

On topic, no suprise the intel stock cooler is lame, no change there! As Llwyd said, next to no one who buys a $1K (iirc) chip will run on a stock cooler...

Hmm interesting thought. U`d assume by that that an oc`er would buy the likes of a QX9650 and oc it... I`d thought they`d buy the likes of a Q6600/E6550/E4300 and oc it.

I was of the opinion some1 would buy a QX9650 and probably not oc, or atleast minimal oc. In which case a stock cooler would be fine.

(outside of performance reviewers etc)
