Intel reveals their new 5 Series of Mainstream SSDs

It makes sense to keep movies/photos/media on NAS or on mechanicals as it's still so much cheaper. The gap is definitely closing though.

I'm still getting by on an old HyperX 120 for the OS and a Neutron 240 for my most played games. Everything else is on 5TB of mechanicals. I'll buy an mSATA 500gb or 1TB so I can basically make this my LAN rig. Zero attached drives so nice and light to move around and no cables to clutter or drive caddies to impede the airflow.

It can still run as my main media server when it's home as well.
 
I find the 180 and 360GB Drives actually quite useful Think about it windows takes like 20GB to install, so your old 128GB SSD is actually 100GB, I use smaller types of SSD for old laptops i mess around with so these are fantastic options for me.
