This rumor makes no sense considering they are still advancing the 18A node and haven't recouped there investment. They always leave a mature node available. That's what 18A will be eventually.

So in their official statement Intel denied that rumor and it makes sense because it's not going to be helpful for them to gain new customers for their 14A node if they can't properly deliver 18A node to foundry customers. Without third parties Intel won't gain anything and they can't lose those customers.
