These actually look pretty darn promising... Only bummer is the price tag. Cut about $500 off the price and they'd be damn tempting.

Apple considered AMD and Intel and it looks like Intel came up with the goods. Most likely the reason was to do with the amount of CPU's that Intel can provide - i.e. very high production. AMD have just got Dresdon (sp?) off the ground so they can't match Intel at this time. Plus I'm sure there were a few sweeteners and undercuts

I've also seen some articles that have said that these will be able to dual boot with windows to enable the user to boot, play games, then reboot into MAC OSX lushness

It will really be the graphics card that will make or break it tbh.

Yeah but with the current Power Macs using x850xt's I'm sure the newer ones will have something nice under the hood

Maybe, but nVidia have their G71s lined up to crap all over the 1900XT when Ati release it, so Mac will have to chose who it gets its cards from carefully
