If it's 60% gains with only 20% additional power, then that's not too bad. Obviously this comes from the smaller cores, so perf/core is surely not very high, but if the end result is higher multicore performance at much better perf/watt than before, they might be on to something.
 
The funny part of all of this is how bad the 200 CPUs were said to be. Funny because they are not bad by any means, they were just made by Intel.

When Ryzen came out it wasn't even as good as what Intel were making. It was just cheaper, but tbh it wasn't even that which got them a foot in the door. It was basically because people didn't like Intel and were desperate for an alternative. Ryzen by comparison was bloody awful. The memory issues were a nightmare for the first few gens.

What I am saying is this.... Intel changed the way their CPUs work last gen. They made them much more power efficient. Meaning they were going to have a bad gen at some point, and I suppose last gen was about as close to being "bad" as possible. Of course they weren't bad by any means but obs reviewers said they were.
