Intel will not stop making GPUs - Nvidia's GPU options will be "complementary".

Read more about Intel's plan to continue creating ARC GPUs.

Sooooooo... Moore's Law Is Dead is saying 'Aha! Told you so!' He's saying the architectures will continue on in APU's. The wording of Intel's quote to PC World suggests that dedicated GPU's will continue on. But Tom from MLID mentioned that Nvidia and Intel wouldn't risk sharing secrets of major architectures. So I'm confused.

They have no choice in sharing secrets. If they use each other's tech they'll need the technical prints in order to go over how best to combine their architectures.

Moving forward, Intel needs a GPU architecture. ARC/Xe is not going away. It's hard to know that the future of discrete GPUs is like, but Intel will need to go most of the way there if they want good integrated graphics. They need an architecture, drives, and dedicated AI and RT support.

I doubt Nvidia would want to make anything low-end enough for mainstream laptops. It would diminish their branding and be too low margin. So Intel needs GPU IP. Intel could quit desktop, but that would be giving up on a lot of potential.

Yes, they will need to share things, at least to some extent. They need a common interconnect design for chiplets. Intel also needs NVLink IP for those custom x86 CPUs.

Intel has previously produced CPUs with non-Intel GPUs. Remember the Kaby Lake CPUs with Radeon RX Vega M graphics? Intel has done this before.
