Intel is set to cut their CPU prices to combat Ryzen 3rd Gen

Intel is seriously panicking with the upcoming release of Ryzen 3rd gen, which they should be. I’m for one ain’t the slighest interested in Intel CPUs anymore, I’ve personally outgrown them and I’m more than willing to support AMD instead. Highest possible fps isn’t important for me anymore either, so I don’t need to have the most ”bleeding edge” tech.

As long as Zen 2 has no major flaws, I don't see any reason for me to even consider an Intel CPU for many years. The 3700X and a decent X570 motherboard with my current 3200Mhz kit is all that I'll want or need.

So Intel does not consider prices depending on costs, but on real and brutal profit. That's why, when they have competition, they drop prices.

And that's why every Intel CPU should be left of the shelfs.

What do you mean by ”no major flaws”? Even if they do, it can’t be more than Intel has ...

Decent X570 motherboard? Got anyone in mind as of right now or no?...

Do you mean that’s why they should all sell out (ie be left off the shelfs) or not be (ie be left on the shelfs)?

Intel right now...

I'm thinking probably a Gigabyte board for me. since they got slated a bit by Buildzoid, they've massively upped their VRM game and components on both Z390 and now X570.

ASUS is probably the safe choice for "it just works" but i've felt like they are doing a bit of an intel lately and just charging a ridiculous ASUS tax on everything

Neither, because they're shelves.

I don’t get it?...

He's being pedantic about your spelling of shelves (cmon Alien, we all understood it ok)

Dawelio, back to your question about X570 though. Definitely keep an eye on buildzoid's/gamersnexus youtube channels. they do a lot of very detailed board analysis (focusing mainly on overclock potential).

Got to love GN. They fit nicely in the watch list for when other sites either don't got into the detail they do or the "reviewer" is what you would call "obligated" to not down talk a product and "highlight" certain areas.

Completely agree! OC3D, GN and Pauls Hardware are probably my holy trinity although there are many great creators out there

Actually it was a joke more than me being a pedant. The joys of the internet eh? I did a LMGTFTY on a forum a couple of months ago as a joke and got a ban for being nasty

Context. Something the internet will never have.

It's not the spelling either (now I am being pedantic :D )

You either have a shelf (singular) or plural shelves. The word shelfs doesn't exist.

/pedant mode off.

OC3D, GN, and Hardware Unboxed are my holy trinity of reviewers. PH is more of a relaxed, fun channel. There is no proper scientific method in his testings.

I don't even know what that means. And I have no interest in Googling it.

I am so lost. I will just do a smart thing and ignore this part of the chat until your brains reboot. :D

Smart move.

But my question about price cuts in general using this as an example. While Intel cut prices and announce that. What is to say that e-tailers just keep its current price and reap the additional profits.

At what point does Intel (or anyone) have authority to step in and say, here is the new MSRP, use this price or face retail consequences.
