HT is not that import, it won't impact gaming performance especially for an i7 processor. As long as Intel is sure the game benchmark of 9700K is faster than 8700K

i gamed the last time when skyrim was released.
people who buy a 8 core system sure not mainly interested in gaming.

Then why do you need an i7 K series CPU? Doing video editing? Picking up a cheaper xenon CPU can easily outperform i7 K with hyperthreading on multiple tasks.

Not at all professional heavy workloads do better by throwing more cores at it. Sometime clock speed matters more.

I doubt very much that there is an xeon cpu that can outperform a 6 core i7 @ 5ghz and also is cheaper... Proof please ?
