The batch numbers are used to find out which ones are the best for overclocking, every CPU batch is different the same as every single CPU is different, some batches are better than others and will overclock higher on lower volts.

I don't think there are and dodgy ones just ones that are better than others.

Gotcha, just thought that I had missed something and there had been a bad batch or something. That together with the B3 replacement boards would have been the icing on the cake. Wish I'd known about this batch number thingy before, didn't realise that this stuff was published. Thanks for the info.

It should be getting better btw, HWBot Rev. 4 will include an easier way to look up and record batchnumbers and their performance.

not that this is any guarantee for performance ofcourse, but it is a good guideline.
