Intel is preparing to release a new six core Gulftown-based Core i7 processor under the code name 990X which fall's in Intel's extreme range the new CPU is very similar to the 980X when it comes to cache levels but this new chip will have higher clocks at 3.46GHz and a Turbo mode of 3.73GHz and rumours are already looming on the internet of a very high overclocking capability for this six core monster and some claim a 5GHz on air but we will have to wait for the solid results when the chip is released and that is in Q1 2011 according to FudZilla as for the price tag well there are some rumours of 1000 £ per chip but nothing solid though, it seems that Intel has had a great success with the Gulftown chip and it doesn't want to compromise on the price area as long as the sales volume stays high and there is no competition to its Ferrari chip.
