Intel 2500k

Il probably get more even temps when i put on thermal paste vertically in a 1mm stripe. 9-13 difference in min-high temp is still a bit high. But im glad it isnt 18-20 hehe

Sounds good. You're using the MX-3 right?

Just as a kind of footnote. I was getting widely varying idle temps on my 2600k under a rasa water block, which was doing my box in as well. After reseating a few times I realised my thumb/finger isn't that accurate and ended up using a vernier calliper to ensure I had equal distance between nuts and theoretically equal sprung pressure. Bought the cores within 2 degrees of each other but it's ever so slightly anally retentive.

Asus just sent me a link with a patch that fixes the utilities installation. Its really odd that they havent posted this on the utilities for the maximus gene-z board. Instead the pacth can be found under P8P67. So if someone else having trouble with this, you can download patch here: http://support.asus...._II_Patcher.zip

Wow, that's interesting. Seems like their programs work universally. That's a great thing right? Hope they do update their respective motherboard download pages to have all the new updates. Makes things easier for the ppl to have access to.
