New here - new to OCing in general.
Watched this youtube video twice; once - and then again about a month after the first viewing to refresh my knowledge gained.

My first overclock of my girlfriends 3770K/p8z77-i Deluxe/Noctua NH-U12P SE2/Prodigy - was done using the Asus utility. Let the motherboard crank the settings as it saw fit. Load temps resulted in 75-82 degrees. The motherboard was running voltages of .9-1.17v.
I was happy, knowing she wasn't gonna stress the machine too often and would likely have temps in the 40-60 range with her usage.
That was in Jan 2013 that I originally set all those settings; or rather i should say let the motherboard set all the settings.
Then in Feb i watched this video and thought "wow... theres a direct relationship between voltage and temps?.. i gotta get access to her computer again and adjust this for her"
So two weeks ago i followed the guide.

At 1.050vcore - stock 3.5-3.9turbo - 55-62degree under load
At 1.035vcore - stock - 55-62 again
At 1.010vcore - stock - 53-60
At 0.980vcore - stock - 52-59
At 0.970vcore - stock - 52-58
At 0.955vcore - stock - 51-57
At 0.925vcore - stock - machine cannot into OS
At 0.935vcore - stock - machine boots and is unstable at 6hours.
SO - my manual overclock on my 3770K was in the end: .980 @ multiplier of 40 for an even 4Ghz @ 51-59 degrees under full load - stable for 48hours of prime95 & Aida64 stability test.

Tom, and anyone else in this community who encourages safe adjustments of system settings, thank you for your knowledge.

Ta,

James
