Insane auto overclock?

I did a mid range gaming build for a friend last night, but I when I powered it up first time I found the motherboard had already overclocked the processor to a stonking 4.5GHz! Anybody else had a similar experience?

Does CPUz say that or is Windows reporting it? Is it stable? That's an insane auto overclock for sure.

Yeah, cpuz reports it, bios reports it and it's perfectly stable XD i even boosted it up to 4.6 GHz for good measure

Are you sure all four cores/threads are on? It might have knocked itself down to a dual core, as I'm pretty sure the FX chips can do.

Yup, checked cpuz and asus ai suite Etc. Basically I checked everything as I didn't believe it myself XD

on CPU-Z there's a button on the last tab on the right that says 'validate'

click this, then link us to the page

or a screenshot,

not that i dont believe you, id just love to see it with my own eyes

see the multipler, timings and voltage...

Sorry, it's not my computer, but i'll ask my mate to download cpu-z again and validate it when he has his internet connection back up and running

Nice, looking forward to see these results!

I've tryed using the auto overclocking feature on my board, (T-Power) it produced huge clocks but boosting up the vcore to acheive it (more than it needed!) So careful for that :S
