IN9 32X-MAX Is Pricey

Saw on another forum (think it was ABIT's) that Overclockers UK has the IN9 32X-MAX on preorder status for £199 with VAT. This is roughly the same price as the ASUS Striker. Color me silly, but I don't see ABIT making a lot of dough at that price, would've had me sold at $300. As it is, the EVGA i680 mobo looks good, it's available, it's affordable, and tomorrow it's mine.

$5 says an ABIT mobo that's has an i680 chipset but along the lines of the AW9D non-MAX sells like hotcakes.

Ye you might be right with the non Max. The Abit board should be good, looking forward to seeing how some of these babies perform :)

Oh, I have no doubt the IN9 32X-MAX will beat the Spam out of any other 680i mobo. And a sweet little touch I liked was the CMOS reset switch on the back I/O panel... now that's something all overclockers said,"Yeaaaah, baby...".:D It's got a lot going for it, even better than ASUS's ROG mobos; but so damn late to the party that most of ABIT's potential customers (like me) will opt for a mobo that's out (like the EVGA), or the price will scare off buyers (like me).

Edit: Oh, yeah, the release date was Jan. 8th if I recall Overclockers UK retail site correctly.

Aye well it wouldn't be a first for OcUK to release it before it was meant to be but having said that abit are a little less than forthcoming about the release date tbh

Scan's price is still £20 cheaper than OcUK & it's still cheaper than a Striker despite now having a PCI-E WiFi card as part of the bundle.

Me, I'm a value rather than extreme overclocker & I can't countenance these £200+ mobos (even though I can easily afford them) which give you an extra couple of % at 300% of the cost.

I've bought an Asus P5N-E SLI 650i mobo for £75 delivered (I'm told that abit's 650i SLI mobo is still a way off).

Ye wasn't saying about SCAN's price, just the price in general. Both the Abi and the Asus are well OTT on pricing and even the RD600 DFI board is pretty dear (though I willingly pay more for a DFI)

at least with the abit you're getting some value added with the PCI-E WiFi card - I guess without it it would be £200 & of course it will get cheaper as supply improves.

Hopefully abit will also do a version later without the WiFi card for those who don't want it.

Aye - if I wanted WiFi I would have one already tbh. At least it's a PCI-e card not a stupid module like they put on the Asus boards

Sorry, no.

TS is usually real quick on posting info in the abit-usa forum when stuff appears somewhere in the US though.

How about a nice AB9 QuadGT to replace that P5B that died?

You have those already & we don't get them until next week.
