Image Resizer

This was a pretty popular powertoy for Windows XP, I used it all the time. I still use this tool on Windows 7. Being that a lot of people seem to post insanely large images I thought I would bring up this tool again (found threads here from 2005).

It can be downloaded here:

Image Resizer for Windows is a utility that lets you resize one or more selected image files directly from Windows Explorer by right-clicking. I created it so that modern Windows users could regain the joy they left behind with Microsoft's Image Resizer Powertoy for Windows XP.

It really doesn't get any easier than using this tool. Now you have no excuses

I use FastStone Image Viewer, they also have a stripped down version which I have not used before for applying simple edits like resizing. Both have the very important batch edit functions.

cool - but i use PS

(i even skrink the filesize, by reducing the jpg quality)

my original 'wallpaper' renders are 48bit_PNG_1080p, and are huge. i only post jpegs of them here, at 20-28% compression, to save load times.

what i may do in future though is, post a small preview image of the artwork, and have a link to the download location of the full hi-res image along side it.

BTW: if anyone uses, and wants the full hi-res wallpapers that i have made, PM me

Couldnt find the installation of image resizer.

Opened the pic in windows paint. It has a function where you can resize pics.Reduced a pic from 2560x1280 pixel to 1366x768 by a few clicks and saved as jpg.

Do you have image resizer installed? All you do is right click a pic or select a bunch of pics and right click one of them. In the menu that pops up it should have an option of "resize pictures".

Yah its in the context menu. My camera has a 1080p image size feature, so that's probably the first resort, but I didn't notice much quality loss from the resizer.
