And Windows 7 was my idea"

Made me lol, some good marketing tbh

Heard it's No. 2 on Amazon's best seller list, outselling even the last Barry Trotter novel, good work. Seems MS are going to be seeing the $$$'s for real this release ;)

I like it :)

Microsoft have certainly got it right this time- having a house of XP machines, I've just ordered 3 copies- definitely worth upgrading at long last.

I want to upgrade to windows 7 but my laptop is at least 7 years old, so i dont think there is any point.

Im going to wait until i build my desktop

Yeah, seen two of the adverts on TV today.. The best one is the dude on the treadmill though. Is pretty good marketing.

I've had a few mail shots about 7, and a few links. It's uncanny to me that they do boast that "we've listened to users" and "it's that much better than the very stable XP", "Windows 7" ... it's an obvious omission that Vista is not mentioned. (in what I've seen anyway).

I think marketing wize they're making a concious effort to promote the name Windows and negate thoughts of Vista to the public.

I absoloutely loved Windows 7, it was wonderful first starting it up. The amazing auto update features was outstanding, it would find drivers for ANYTHING. Even my generic USB device it found drivers for which I could never get to work on XP or Vista. When installing Windows I would already have the drivers and have Internet connection, which Vista or XP didn't have.

I liked the look also, but the only down fall was....

I got kicked by Punkbuster for API calls (not themes or anything), which is unfixable (hundreds have it), and I couldn't overclock.

I would get random BSOD a few seconds into bootup, nothing I could do about it other than stock. GTA4 @ stock settings = terribad experience :).
