Can someone provide me with detailed instructions on how to force my OS, Windows 7, 64bit, to allow a 1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz or better resolution for my iiyama HM204DT CRT? There are no 64 bit drivers available and the best resolution I can run is 1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz.

I have read in other forums from a couple of years ago that this can be done, but no detailed instructions were given.

Please note that I mentioned that in my second line. iiyama does not offer Windows 7, 64 bit drivers for this monitor. I would like to have a work-around until I purchase a flat screen. It would be ashame for me to discard this monitor which is in "Like New" condition.

what makes you say this?

i have iiyama

although right-clicking on the downloaded .inf file, to install it as you would you with previous windows versions, brings up an error... you have you install it through the device manager-->update driver

it works - i just did it

download the drivers from the site

unzip the archive to a known location

right-click computer

select manage

select device manager

click monitors

select the monitor that the OS has recognised

right-click it

select properties

click driver

choose update driver

pick the folder that you unzipped the archives to

job done
