take some photos of your bios for me (get everything that you can change overclock wise)

Haha, DONE!

And 2morrow I get the D14, a new keyboard, mousepad and a Coolink SWiF2-120P 120mm PWM fan

Then I'll update my Rig Gallery

That all looks ok to me, you will just have to get on with it the old fashioned way like I said from the start and work out what your cpu needs!

Should work up gradually and find the lowest stable volts for each step.

So drop back to 200x18 and then work your way back up. keeping the bclk at 200 means your ram will stay at 1600mhz so youll know that is stable or not at a lower volts

Splendid

what do you recommend the max 'safe' voltages are for the vCore, IMC, PPL?

vCore: 1.4v right?

IMC: ?

PPL: ?

Crap, I got a BSOD while I was writing -.-"

Well I wanted to ask: when to raise this or that voltage? When I get a BSOD I raise the IMC voltage right? And when a worker fails in prime95, I need to raise the vCore and/or PPL right?

And what about PCH volts? I just leave it on auto or do I need to raise it too when something fails?

Naah... I just can't reach 4.2GHz, it's not stable in any way...

Thinking of changing my setup. Should I stay on 1156 or go to 1366?

Yea i have one as well

my i7 860 does 4200Mhz (4400Mhz also but depends a bit on what WU) F@H stable but i have to give way to much Vcore for that
unsure.gif

on the other hand, i seriously don't care what it needs of Voltage as long as it runs the (my) WU's fine , i am very happy

Probably just means your CPU doesnt have 4.2 in it. Tbh 4ghz is plenty for anyone and its really not worth spending load on upgrading for.

Agreed and in regards to F@H,

it doesn't really matter 4400Mhz or 4000Mhz might be 200PPD extra.. well the heat and extra Vcore is NOT woth that PPD boost...

Ohh... So no upgrading then. Well ok. I guess I'm goin to have to live with 4Ghz

And I managed to lower the temps a bit with my D14... now it's running at 66°C

Furmark is a little bit more powerful!

I have acheved a stable 4GHz OC
cool.gif

I will leave it running for the night, so it's 100% stable
