Hi guys

Last night I was able to OC my CPU to 5.0Ghz but! with only 4 cores 4 threads :( I was trying to hit 5.0Ghz mark with 8 threads but everything above 1.450v hits 90s C or more and OCCT is closing down (safe temps on 85C) I'm fully happy with 4.8Ghz but I wan't more so is this means I need to delid my CPU to gain better temps? Is there any different way to achieve 5.0Ghz with 8 threads?

You must have a very good chip there! If I was you I would de-lid it and put some Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra on there. Try a push-pull config on your radiator?

If you really want to push your chip then get a custom water cooling loop.

Could you benchmark it at 5GHz? I'd like to see what it gets ;)

For 4.8Ghz I had Corsair H80i with push pull. Now I have custom WC with push pull too but I need to work on same brand fans, now they are random :( not same speed unfortunately.

What kind of benches are you interested?

Last nigh I finished close to 5.00 AM and I had no time to do more tests.

What is the cooling solution your using?

Wow, my 4770k doesn't overclock at all >_< I can only get 4.2ghz but only with a whopping 1.2Vcore nice OC results, best of luck getting higher OCs!

1.45 is asking for trouble on Haswell... I run 4.6GHz at 1.36 and I feel I'm pushing it, when it goes pop, post pics XD

Yeah 1.45v is a LOT

I can get 4.9 from mine at 1.26 but Idve never gone over 1.3 - its a good clock but its not a good chip. Id never run this all the time and Id almost call it a n000b clock just smashing loads of volts in it.

Vcore in bios was setup at 1.402 cpuz showing 1.403 and occt reporting as 1.44 and it was only done to test it Im not running it 24/7 Im happy with stable 4.8ghz with 1.250v plus nice temps too and its on 8 threads

Reporting 1.44 was because you had the LLC set too high rather than just setting the volts at whats needed.

Tbh mate I'd just be happy with 4.8GHz and leave it at ttthat. The experience I've had with Haswell at the moment would want to make me pay good money for a chip that did 4.8GHz @ 1.25V stable. I can't even get 4.5GHz with 1.3V stable no matter what I do.
