i5-4570T vs i3-4160? vs Pentium G3258

So what would be best for a pc build for a friend that will only do web browsing, youtube and some light gaming - maybe pairing it up with a 750ti or 950?

Also it might be used for some video making or edeting for like fmaily videos etc. Budget is a thing - but I could get the i5 for 130 euro second hand from a friend (is that good price?) OR a new i3 4160 for 114 euros OR a new G3258 for 65 euros.

What would be best out of THESE options - they are what I am looking for as the TDP is low.

Get the i5 for 130 imo. For video rendering extra cores ( orHyperthreading on an i3) will come in handy and prices of new chips are so inflated atm that an i3 at €120 is simply not worth it.

If you can get a 4440 or 4460 cheaper they are decent really cool running little chips. The true quad i5 is worth the little price increment over the i3 in my opinion and all you need even for a flagship single card if you don't overclock. I used to run my 4440 passively with a Noctua L12.

Well that particular i5 is a dual core CPU clocked at 2.9GHz. That i3 is also dual core but has hyperthreading and clocks in at 3.6GHz. So really the only 3 differences I can see between them are the i5 has 4MB of l3 while the i3 get 3MB of l3 cache. In addition the i3 gets HD4400 graphics and the i5 gets 4600HD. The i5 has a lower tdp of 36watts and the i3 is 54watts.

I'd probably go with the i3. Faster clocks and hyperthreading for slightly less.

If you can get the actual quad core i5 for cheap then any variant of those would be ideal as well.

Ooh yeah I didn't see the T while skim reading. In that case yeah, see if you can find a true quad core i5 for a good price, otherwise go with the i3. The Pentium K is just not really a viable option anymore.
