i5-4440: BeQuiet DarkRock PRO 3 vs NOCTUA NH-U12S vs BeQuiet ShadowRock 2

Just got my future cpu today, which means it's time to make a choice. Already have 3 coolers to pick from: BeQuiet DarkRock PRO 3, BeQuiet ShadowRock 2, NOCTUA NH-U12S.
And I really don't know which one to place in my next build. Thou BeQuiet DarkRock PRO 3 looks like an ultimate option. A friend said that I can even use it without any fan for this cpu. If so that would be really nice.
So... any suggestions?

you won't even be overclocking this chip you don't need to spend a lot of money to keep it cool, a hyper 212 from CM or even cheaper a hyper t4 from CM again would keep it cool

+1 to this anless you are allso buying a cheap mobo that dosent have mosfet heatsinks then a top down cpu cooling unit will be recommended but saying that the stock intel heatsink is perfectly adequate for the i5 4440.

Guys, you didn't get my point. I ALREADY have these coolers, I just want to pick best one.

Well then put it this way if you have mosfet heatsinks any of them will do try them all out for the most silent and system compatablty (are thay obscuring your ram) if you dont have mosfet heatsinks use the stock unit as it will blow air down at the mobo and mosfets.

You should't be worried too much about the VRMs haswells aren't that power hungry anyway

Depends on how cheap a board you are running you find most cheaper ones with no shelding have remediations by the manufacturer to use top down cooling thats how thay justify being cheap and not adding them i gess.

Ok, I'll keep that in mind when choosing mobo, thx.

Welcome to the i5 4440 club ;) I love mine, it's a nippy quader and low power draw. I'd go with the Darkrock, it's a great looking and performing cooler. I'd be surprised if you hit 30C under full load, I get no higher than 26C with a H100i at 100%, again great chip.

And what do you think about going 'fanless style' with DarkRock PRO 3 idea? I wonder what is fanless tdp of this cooler(pretty sure 250W, mentioned in specs are at full fan spin).
