I have exactly 1600$ CAN for that new rigs. Tower, processor, motherboard, harddrive, video card, power supply, monitor, memory, cases, and a custom fan for the processor.

Like my topic title say, i would like to buy a new processor and a new motherboard. thing is i don't know if i should go INTEL or AMD. i know it must be a hard thing to explain between both kind of processors. I have no idea of the performance of AMD vs intel. This new rigs will be for gaming only. If someone could help me choosing the best option, it would be appreciated.

it not in the best place to ask for this one but should i go ATI or NVIDIA.

Thanks in advance.

intel = better overclocker

AMD = bang for buck

And for the current generation of cards go with the nvidia cards, the 500 series kicks the 69xx series pretty hard in the teeth

Unless power is a real issue, then get radeons coz they use slightly less for their price/ performance bracket

hmm some website say that AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition 3.3GHz isnt good at all for gaming. It is true?

Nope that is not true...

alright, going to store ordering that processor with a MSI 870A Fuzion.

You will be a happy gamer mate

1600? and only getting an 1100t? i bought a sandybridge system for only 850 bucjks...you could probably afford a SB SLI setup, with a nice ssd and highend motherboard

save a few$$ and get the 1090t over the 1100t its only 100MHz difference for like 30-40$ savings. My current rig in my sig plays games smashingly I love it. But I'm considering the fusion board as well so I can run 2 nvidia's on it

Oh my, 1600$ canadian... dude IF I my suggest. get a 2500k a gigabyte ud5 kingston hyperx memory nh14 and depending on the rest of the stuff u get, get either 1 gtx580 or if u have a bit more 2 gtx570. that will RIP anything

goodluck and have fun building, (post pics!!)

The mans right 1600 is much better spent on a better spec intel rig rather than an AMD. AMD is usually if you want to spend less on your computer.

I'd have to agree with everyone else. Intel + nvidia is the way to go at the moment, and your budget is pretty large so you could build a pretty monstrous rig.

Done another check on the NCIX Canada and made a few changes

Solid state is a 128GB Corsair P3

CPU is now a 2600K

GPU is now a Twin Frozr GTX 580

Price - 1,638.33 canadian dollars

If you don't pay that extra 40 for that setup I will fly to Canada and slap you until you do.

Disabling HT gives better overclockability, if you plan on an overclock no higher than about 4.2Ghz you may aswell go AMD for the price

But with his budget, intel is the faster therefore better option. Going amd would be, imo, a waste of money when something faster is available.
