Hybrid SLI For Intel?

If you have an intel based mobo, that boasts xfire ability, and says nothing about sli etc.. (and u know for a fact sli isn`t in the design consideration)

Is it purely software that prevents the use of sli on that system ? or is there something on the hardware level that the mobo may be lacking ?

Guess what I`m saying here is that, with some-kind of software massaging, chipset driver-wize perhaps, would these same xfire boards do sli ?

Add to that with previous `hacked` or hybrid drivers they used to get sli working on the series 7 and below b4 nvidia encrypted the communication.- but there was nothing addition hardware-wize u needed - afaik.

Of course having the necessary chipset driver would be fundamental.

This does what now?

On board sli-whuuuuu? The mobo specs looked to have only one x16 pci-e :eh:

Edit: Rast -

It's nearly impossible. Much of the inter-card communication has been encrypted with the newer 8000 series drivers. most likely to satisfy Vista DRM qualifications. The info that would be transfered between cards is probably deemed to be what the movie studios would call Intellectual Property. Because of stupid vista, they have to keep all that encrypted and thus no one really can tweak them to open them up for other platforms.
