What's your budget? Are you looking at 3D in the future? Will you be gaming on it? What case and PSU are you looking to run (in terms of Form Factor and Wattage)?

I was hoping for the 175 price range.

no to 3D, gaming maybe some emulation but i wouldnt think id do much proper gaming on it.

Case and PSU ive not looked at yet. Open to suggestions tho.

nice build for a htpc but the main thing that you have to worry about when buying the case is them llano processors get pretty hot.

If you have a £175 budget & are looking to play BR's with HD audio, then I think as you initially suggested, llano is the way to go.

I found this link which explains the difference between the capabilities of the Llano range. I think you are spot on with the 3500.
