Ive recently decided to go against the grain and sell my iphone, Ive been looking around for a replacement and yet again thanks to Jim corrupting me Ive ordered a HTC Legend.

Have any of you boys out there got any good aps or advice as this really is new teritory for me so Im just looking for me e-Family to give an old man some advice.

Ive heard they can be tethered to a laptop fairly easily too, has anyone done this?

How much is Legend like the HD2 ?

With the HD2 I can set it up as either a Wifi router or usb tether. Naff thing about the tether is u need to be windows orientated to use it.

you just had to go for the google os didn't u tom...

i'm guessing you'll be getting google apps for it

there's a couple of threads and roms for it in the htc legend section at the xda developers forum

it's pretty new tho, so there's not a lot out there yet

if it's anything like windows mobile, if you look into the other sections, the android apps and themes etc should be compatible if they share the same resolution

Wassup with Android, even you said you were looking at flashing yours? Its all Jims fault tbh.

Picked up an HTC Desire from the T-Mobile shop earlier...

Typing this from the new phone. Quite pleased so far.

Nice and fast, good screen, and loadsa apps on the market

Anyone tried tapatalk on OC3D ?

Just wondering if it's worth installing

apparently all you do is install htc sync on the computer, then connect the phone via usb and select internet sharing

My mate has the HD2. It's a very nice phone, but way too expensive in my opinion. The legend seems like a much more sensible option. Actually another friend has that too. I seem to remember it being very fast!

hd2 runs on windows mobile and is pants and slow liek all windows mobile phones even my tatoo is faster :O

Have to say that the Desire is rapid, almost as quick as my laptop online when it has wifi or 3g access, proper amazed tbh

about the only one i use regularly is Nimbuzz for msn. Its not perfect but its ok

juice defender/ultimate juice - increase battery life by disabling data when not needed

handcent sms

hullo mail - free voicemail mp3's in your email inbox

beautiful widgets

skype lite and/or nimbuzz

pkt auctions ebay

battery life

battery indicator

mvideo player, beeb player, & yxflash - for playing various formats & streaming vids (looking forward to proper divx support in the future...)

astro player - music player with EQ

barcode reader - handy for downloading apps using QR codes

smart keyboard - nice KB replacement

digital clock

estrongs file explorer - excellent file manager and has FTP and LAN

i have a few others, but these are the main ones that come to mind...

my maximum coverage shield arrived today, so i installed it this evening

screen still works just fine, but is slightly more grippy

i tried to take some pics, but the light is terrible in here and i don't have my decent camera atm.

you can still see how the material has that "orange peel" look though and the back of the phone is very glossy now lol
