I've seen so maney pics of shiny PC's and after the best part of a year, all my componets havea film of dust. Dispite my fan filters on the case.

So whats the best way to clean stuff? I cleaned on of my OLD pc's witha tooth brush once, But then i didnt really mind if it broke.

Any way, any recomendations ?

Use compressed air mate. Most decent e-tailors do it. It just blows air outta you PC like you wouldn't believe :ar:

What this man right here said... Compressed air is a sure-fire way to clear out the dust without damaging any components.

Taa!

even a vacum would work alright :)

Vaccum cleaners do work well, but you must be careful when cleaning components because...

A) Static electricity can build up around the nozzel of the hoover

B) If the nozzel accidentally gets sucked onto the motherboard or other components it can easily crack small components.

best way is to not let air get in, in the first place.

what is your fan setup? and do you have fan filters?

Thanks guys, think i might try and get hold of some of that compressed air. The main problem spots are like, on the ram where dust form the CPU heatsink is blowne off. Will compressed air be strong enough to clean that?

I ve got pretty much the same rig as Tripp and Dush is such a problem with the cooler master C5 case :P

need to give it all a big clean.

iam always having to hover the front where all the dust gets trapped in the filters in the front of the case.

Personally a paint brush with fine bristles, canned air and a small vacuum cleaner - With some special care, love and attention.

Works for me.....

I also take out memory etc. dust what I can with canned air - this again usually works for me! Good luck...

Glen.

I tend to use a plastic tube (clear type) which is quite flexible and then tape (ducting tape) it to the vac. cleaner hose. No probs with static/ electricity etc. Course I use in conjunction with a long bristled paint brush.

I also use a paint brush + we have a compressor our in the garage meaning i can just pop out there and give my comp a good blow out. And yeah compressed air is strong enough to get even the most stubborn pieces of dust off =P

Compressed air is good but a rip off!! lol high street store selling a small can for £7-8!! lol , just use a football pump and give it some elbow grease ;)

Small can? thats why its good to have a compressor in the garage, tis like unlimited compressed air, and enough to knock your computer over =/

Yep, a great investment, makes a hell of a racket though.
