How to change youtube channel layout

I've just started up a new channel as a collaborative effort between a friend and myself and im currently going through the paces of getting it all organised and ready for business however im currently a bit stuck on how to change the layout. i want to change it to be similar layout to my existing channel-

I did a quick google and most of the results were outdated or videos which i cannot watch at this point in time.

You need videos up there first I think

I agree with Tom. I'm pretty sure the layout on your old channel is that way because of the playlists (e.g. shooter).

I've got 1 video uploaded thus far, which will be set as the featured video. it was set unlisted but setting as listed didnt change anything.

okay a little embarrassing, the arrows i was looking for were just hidden, you need to bring your mouse near it and the drop down menu becomes available, follow these steps-
hope this atleast helps anyone else who's having trouble.
