Hoping someone can help (mouse freeze, few seconds then gradually gets worse)

Hey guys, i dunno why but i sorta feel like this could be related to GPU issues hence why i'm putting it in here but that really is just a complete guess.

Essentially the problem i'm having is that my mouse will freeze, nearly always happens whilst browsing the web. Then everything will appear fine again (mouse cursor colour may change or won't change icon appropriately i.e hand over buttons, text cursor over text) Then my mouse will often start freezing every minute or so and sometime i'll completely lock up

This doesn't happen very often and a restart always resolves the issue but I just wanted to know if any of you guys have experienced this or may know the problem

Thanks

Never had this problem myself but have you tried uninstalling the gpu driver and re-installing them?

yeah tried that. like i said though i'm not 100% sure if it is linked to gpu but was just an assumption

do u fold or anything?? if GPU usage gets really high i have experianced it. But then closeing the client solves it.

Otherwise it may just be your GPU maxing out under load if you have another application using it :L may even be flash so i suppose you could disable hardware acceleration in flash player settings, its certainaly buggy enough to do something like that :L

hope that helps

i think it could be related to flash etc. it's happened when about to watch a video and when flicking through fb pics before. Although my card is good surely flash of all things wouldn't cause this unless it's just a bug in the system

Highly likely this ^^ especially if it's a wireless mouse. My logitech Performance MX used to do it a bit until I relocated the reciever.

yeah definitely not the mouse, the mouse stutter just seems to be a symptom of whatever it is that's causing the sudden system lag

It'd be nice if you're having an issue with something you could tell us what you're having the issue with, you stated mouse but never said which mouse because it could be the mouse and definitely sounds like it.

If it is something else it could be the CPU, when my Intel stock cooler died the other day my CPU temps went high (about 90c) and my pc was very slow and mouse was moving in almost slow motion. So check to make sure you don't have something going on that is causing either A. heat or B. putting load on the CPU. I'd check the same for the graphics card, make sure it is within reasonable heat thresholds.

Try checking drivers for the mouse (regardless of it being a plug n' play or not) and try to think of any programs that you've installed recently that may be interfering with the mouse. You said mouse color in the OP so I'm going to guess you have a custom cursor? If so it could be something to do with the custom cursor try going back to the default cursor skins (windows) and see it that helps.

will look into it ta. i think it's prob one of the things you mentioned but just wanted to see if anyone had experienced a similar issue to help me hone in
