Home PF Sense builds...

Just wondering if any of the regulars on here have made their own PF Sense routers at home? Ive just completed a little project i was trying out with an old HP AMD Athlon desktop that a friend donated to me after i built him a new machine, and ive found it really interesting... Is anyone else running a home brew router setup?

I have recently started to use a APU2C4.

Runs Snort, PfBlocker etc like a champ!

Although, I may re-purpose my G8 Microserver and virtualise pfSense. I run pfSense in the cloud as well, protecting my online infrastructure. No issues

Is it a good upgrade over the standard router for security and can you run anit-virus of it as well

So I decided to change infrastructure slightly.

Moved pfSense to ESXi and used VT-d to pass-trough a Intel 4-Port NIC. Got a WAN/WiFi/LAN Interfaces going with a VMLAN VLAN and a Management VLAN. Snort on all the major interfaces configured in IPS.
