Had a great time and Santorini is a beautiful Island :)

Outstanding shots there, glad u had a great time. That camera u`r using has gotta help bring out the colors of everything, nvm the detail.

Kinda looks like an old mineral/mined face to the bay area, winery - oooo.

Ugh, clear water like that is one of the things I miss from not making holidays like this >.<

Aye went up the steps in Fira town, was hot and smelly!

The camera is sweet, think I messed with a setting though so some pics are a little off at the sides :(

Very sunny and lush island, loved it :)

Looking pretty good, been nice weather in england though, except today which is terrible.

Is that beach madee of basalt? from the volcano?

ahh but your still in England. When you're in another country the stress just falls away :)

I have no idea tbh, tis around the edge of the Volcano's Caldera, so may have been formed by the volcao yes :)

That place looks stunning mate! Would love to go there :yumyum:

Glad you had a nice time, well deserved imo ;)

that is not sand but ash from the volcano , believe me it is impossible to walk on it bare foot on a sunny day

no its not.

as robump says it can be basalt, or any other form of dark rock which wears down. theres also a reason it stays on the beach and doesnt wash away into the sea but i cant remember it atm.

it might be ash if the volcano had erupted, but i have no idea whr u got that information lol.

We have several black beaches here in Wales afaik, with no volcanoes. Several greek islands are built on volcanoes, which will comprise largely of volcanic rock like obsidian or basalt, both black.

listen the island of santorini is a big caldera that has collapsed thats why its kind of a circle the island formed , yes it was an active volcano long time ago , i have been to those islandsi know what im talking about ... i ll try to find somme piccars

obsidian is a kind of glassy rock which is not black in that area but a greenish colour it depends on the area
